Owls
Mom, where is the crystal owl? As a kid i played with it all the time when you weren't home to tell me to get my dirty paws off of it.
I feel like 1 or 2 others are missing. I am afraid to put them on display at home or work because people might think i collect owls and start adding to the collection with sub par owls. So i reorganized their home and gave them a fresh box. They outgrew that Agner shoe box from 1986.

I got a new (used) car!
Baby honda is getting up there in miles so she has been replaced. Poor little thing. Anyway, this is my new baby. She's a little older than i wanted but she comes from good stock. Her previous family treated her well and I will try to do the same!

PUMPKIN!
I carved a giant pumpkin tonight. I first started just to get the seeds. I ended up destroying them because they were soggy, soggy, soggy, then BLACK! oh well. I tried. The inside of this pumpkin was super foamy. like cutting through great stuff foam. Pretty cool because it was not slimy AT ALL! This is only like my 3rd ever. What a fun evening!

I fixed this!
So my old tenant left a light colored bent wood stool. It had sat on the stoop and got stained and filthy and moldy. I was going to put it by the curb and then I decided it would work great for work! We have a shower in the bathroom and we needed a stool. so, i scavenged some stain, stained it black and then did 3 coats of poly. YAY ME!
Bee flower
I thought this was cool. There were at least 20 on each flower cluster. They were napping or high. You could pet them and they didn't do anything. Awesome!

Little Free Libraries
So I saw this recently and knew exactly what it was. Its a tiny library! Take a book, trade a book! They're popping up all over and I decided to trade out books. I stopped, threw the car in park, emergency lights, ran over, tossed my book in and it was easy. There was only one adult book so i went ahead and took it. It's Patricia Cornwell. It'll be a fast read one day. I now know of one on McLendon and another in Kirkwood. Maybe those will be better.
Go to www.littlefreelibrary.org and somewhere in there you can find a map of all the registers tiny libraries!

Good morning vietnam!
Oh Jesus, 3:55am, Scott's running late for work (not his fault, they changed the call time) then all of a sudden there's terrible screeching from the kitchen, a dog explosion, screaming, then the dogs catch the villian that was already caught by the glue trap and then it's Turkey (my dog) and a live screaming mouse and Me and Scott trying to pull the glue trap and live screaming mouse off of Turkey. Let me say, that glue trap was WAY under the oven so Turkey shouldn't have gotten to it except the mouse was only half on it and well, that sucked. BUT, olive oil gets glue off. Oh and maybe the jerk ripping the insulation out of my oven is gone. sorry no pics.

Hillcrest Orchards
I stacked goats. I got my hair eaten by a goat. I at on a bull and pretended to really ride it. I picked apples. This was an excellent Super Action Sunday! Oh, we also got to milk a cow and see cloggers. Really, what more could you ask for?

Hair Day!
I am not a girly girl but I just stepped it up a notch. I got rich girl hair. I went to my friend's salon called The Cherry Blosson Salon here in Atlanta and got a keratin treatment-like thing. The paint the chemical on and then "sizzle" it to set it. Yes, that is smoke coming off my head. The final result takes the frizzies out and the fluff that my hair gets and makes it a sleek shiny head of rich girl hair. I love it1 don;t hate me because I am beautiful!
Oh, and I told scott to thank the hair stylist for making me high maintenance. I cant go out with hair like this and no makeup! And my nails are chipped! Crap, i need a massage!

Hot peppers
I recently went to the Greenville, SC downtown farmer's market with my mom and they had a pepper booth. Every kind of pepper ever! I am no pepper expert but I did know about Ghost peppers. So i asked for one. The very knowledgeable man told me about a hotter pepper and then another and another. Before long he sold me the 12 pack of hottest peppers in the world. i am terrified but I gave them to scott. I think he's scared too because they sit there staring at us each day, on the counter, in their packaging.

Engaged!
Sorry mom I can't find a better pic and my camera is fighting me. I'll get someone to help get a better one.
Our tiny house in La Fortuna
This is our tiny house and the view from it. It was 2 bedrooms and 1 bath for 100 a night. VRBO.com was awesome! The first night Scott and I walked up to this little festival. It was basically a bunch of booths to take the American's change. All kinds of silly gambling games. The kiddie pool one was the best. just throw your change at the paper plate in the pool and if it lands on it you get all the money. No, you really never get any money. Ill try to wrap this trip up tomorrow so I can fill you in on all the other things!

The trip to La Fortuna.
Heading back across the gulf i just relaxed a bit. We had to leave really early to catch the ferry and there really weren't any food places. i ended up grabbing some weird chinesey- central american stir fry thing. Really I should have held out for some meat on sticks. yum meat on sticks!
Once we were across we hopped on our route. Or so we thought. It actually took a really long time to get to the next place to stay which was in La fortuna. We had to stop for directions at a place who had this awesome bridge out back!
The trip was super pretty but the winding roads made me want to puke for about 3 hours. This is the volcano lake and basically we drove to the other side. Cows just hang out on the side of the road.
There are also these funny critters. Coatimundi. They are like raccoons and very social. They know the game so they swarm the road in packs and come to the car begging for food. I love them and wanted to bring one home but Scott wouldn't let me.

Monkeys! Next stop, the volcano
Monkeys! There were right out in front of our hotel compound. They make this loud roary sound though they are howler monkeys. I think they should be roaring monkeys or grunting monkeys. Look at photo 3 and you will be able to see giant monkey balls.

Zip Line! Montezuma, costa Rica
The view down the line
Getting ready!
Dad goes first!
I don;t like rides OR heights but I did it for the sake of family time. I almost cried once and I also had a heart attack but I made it! PS- ladies, wears shorts. A skort does not work well.
There was a swimming hole halfway. If we knew about how hard it would be to climb the steps back to the line we probably would have skipped it. not really, but it was pretty deep in the ravine!
I recommend the zipline if you ever come across one. It isn't something I want to do always but it was well worth the money and time! Dad and Scott said "i could do this every day!
