My two latest baby quilts

So I finished these two quilts this week. I rented the long-arm quilt machine at Ren Hen fabrics to work on my friend's wedding gift and when i finished ahead of schedule I was able to set these two up and quilt them. I got to use the new awesome machine and it goes much much faster. This allowed me time to get fancy and make puffy little clouds on the airplane quilt. I had a lot of fun and of course when I was almost to the end I decided to retrace the cloud bottoms to give them more oomph! It turned out really nice but required a lot of attention so i didn't zoom away.
The pink quilt is just using my regular meander than I love so much. One day I will have 12,000 spare dollars to buy a machine for myself. For now i will just keep the Ren Hen in business by renting theirs!

My work in progress, a quilt for ME!!!!!

This is only a quarter, not even, or the quilt i am making for myself. I didn't buy anything new for the top. I've thinned my scrap pile and thinned the pile of "too much fabric". I've also learned to be more careful measuring. Always remember to measure twice cut once. This was started on December 27 and I hope to be done by MLK day. Yes, its a birthday present for him.

Not much new

I'm sorry I haven't written in a bit but nothing overly exciting has been happening. I'm working on a quilt for myself finally. Its got a lot of turquoise and some greens and bits of everything else. Its to thin my pile of fabrics. I also have to finish it and quilt it, photo it and get my entry form to the Bulloch Hall people by the 31st. Its a good show to try for and since most of my other quilts are long gone...well, I just have to bust ass to get it done!

Also, please go look at Ted's new Etsy site, home of the oven squirrel!

I'm sorry I have neglected you...

I made this baby quilt for Allison's baby shower. Isn't it cute? I used mostly skulls and cherries with pinks and reds to fill it in. and the back is courderoy pink with cherries. ADORABLE!

So, now I have one more baby quilt and one animal wall hanging to do by Christmas! YIKES!I've got to get busy!

Pants

So, my NC BFF Claire has the softest kitty in the world. I hate to be so gay and girlie but today, I talk about kitties. My kitty Tang is pretty soft (or he was until he decided to be goth and live in the basement, but that's a different story) but Claire's cat Pants is super duper soft! She loves Pants so much that she asked me to commemorate him in a tiny quilt. I started making tiny quilts because they're fun, somewhat portable, and cute as hell! So here is the before and after of the Pants Tiny Quilt.
And yes, Pants DOES have a tiny head. I didn't do it, she was born that way.
Tang footnote:
Tang recently got a new dog and he does not like the new dog. To protest, Tang lives in the basement and is a loner. Its like a teenager with a new stepdad. Thank GOD he isn't wearing black eyeliner. Yet.

Sale to a Stranger

Yesterday was awesome! I cleaned up my emails, posted some new stuff to etsy, and then...yes! FINALLY!!!!! I made a sale on my etsy store to a stranger! YAY!!!! A nice lady in Berkely, CA bought my star quilt. So now I feel legit. Sure, I had sales a plenty at my craft fairs (next one, Nov. 3 Cabaagetown Chomp and Stomp) but it feels good to know that I can sell them online as well. This will definitely keep my fabric addiction flowing! Speaking of which, I am psychic because I just bought 100 bucks worth of fabric online right before I made that sale.

High Five!
